fermacell® flooring elements are the ideal flooring solution for commercial and residential projects - from office buildings and schools to hotels and multi-story residential buildings. They combine modern design flexibility with proven durability for every application.
Simple sequential installation in just three steps: laying, bonding and screwing. Lightweight for easier installation. Can also be installed in sections.
The floor covering can be laid as early as 24 hours after installation.
Significantly lower thickness than with traditional wet screeds, less load on the subfloor, and connections to existing structural elements are easy to achieve.
The process is carried out entirely without the introduction of moisture. This protects the structure and prevents any consequential damage.
Perfectly coordinated
At their core, fermacell™ floor systems consist of:
fermacell® fibre gypsum flooring elements
Therm25™ flooring elements for underfloor heating systems
Levelling
Levelling compounds are applied either as loose-lay or bound variants. The system is completed with adhesives, screws or staples. For areas subject to moisture, there are additional waterproofing systems such as liquid waterproofing, sealing tapes or waterproofing membranes. Accessories such as edge insulation strips or fillers complete the system. All components have been tested within the system and are perfectly matched to one another.
The complete dry screed ‑ The fermacell™ system, is suitable for almost all floor constructions: in residential construction for new builds or renovations on concrete or timber joist floors, in bathrooms or damp areas, and for spaces with underfloor heating.
fermacell® flooring elements make an effective contribution to structural fire protection. They are non-combustible (building material class A2) in accordance with DIN EN 13501-1. Depending on the system configuration and substrate, fire resistance classes ranging from F30 to F90 can be achieved.
When it comes to sound insulation, professionally designed floor structures using fermacell® flooring elements achieve performance levels comparable to those of solid screed constructions.
Our flooring elements are made from 100% natural materials and help reduce CO2 emissions*.
Versatile
fermacell® flooring elements are highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications. Key areas of application include:
Renovation and modernisation of older buildings
Timber-beamed ceilings and structurally sensitive constructions
Housing construction (new builds and extensions, timber and solid-construction)
Changes of use involving increased requirements for sound, fire and thermal insulation
They can also withstand the stresses encountered in office and administrative buildings, provided the floor structure is suitable.
The right floor structure for every project
fermacell® flooring elements are available in various designs to meet different requirements, either without insulation or as composite elements with a backing layer. This allows almost any floor structure to be configured to suit specific project requirements.
When it comes to effectively reducing airborne and impact noise or improving fire safety, fermacell® fibre gypsum flooring elements with wood fibre insulation are the ideal choice.
Suitable floor coverings
fermacell® flooring elements are suitable for almost all standard floor coverings. The range of options extends from tiles to carpets and parquet flooring, right through to resilient floor coverings. Even large-format tiles can be laid safely provided the correct system is used. The floor finish can be applied as early as 24 hours after the fermacell® flooring elements have been laid.
High load-bearing capacity, combined with good impact sound and thermal insulation as well as reliable fire protection, are essential for modern flooring comfort. fermacell® flooring elements meet these requirements with ease.
