What makes fermacell® products sustainable?
Our products are made from 100% natural materials. The raw materials used in our products are: gypsum, paper and water.
The life cycle assessment was verified by the IBU through independent experts. Rather than evaluating individual aspects of the products, all relevant environmental impacts were presented on the basis of life cycle analyses. The assessment covered the entire service life, from raw material and energy extraction and raw material transport, through the actual manufacturing phase of the panels, to the end-of-life phase, including disposal and recycling options.

Products for sustainable construction
The properties of fermacell® fibre gypsum boards and fermacell® flooring elements have already been certified on numerous occasions by independent institutes and have now been confirmed by the Environmental Product Declaration issued by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt E.V. (IBU). Accordingly, fermacell® gypsum fibreboards and fermacell® screed elements are free from substances harmful to health and even reduce CO2 emissions.*
This means that the products can be installed in all buildings that are to be assessed under the BREEAM and LEED building certification schemes.
