fermacell® Powerpanel TE lightweight concrete board: For wet and damp rooms
fermacell® Powerpanel TE is a lightweight concrete panel designed for the barrier-free fitting out of wet rooms. It is used in particular in floor structures subject to high levels of moisture.
fermacell® Powerpanel TE – a reliable foundation in high-humidity environments
fermacell® Powerpanel TE is a cement-bound lightweight concrete dry screed element designed for barrier-free installation in wet and damp rooms, particularly in floor structures subject to high levels of moisture. The element consists of two lightweight concrete panels in a sandwich construction, reinforced on both sides with alkali-resistant glass fibre mesh. The panels are arranged in a staggered pattern and form a stepped joint for bonding and mechanical fastening (screwing or clamping). This ensures a force-fit connection between the elements.
Suitable floor coverings such as tiles, PVC or linoleum can be laid on fermacell® Powerpanel TE. The panel is also suitable for use with hot-water and electric underfloor heating systems. No special safety precautions are required when cutting or breaking the panels to size.
fermacell® Powerpanel TE are lightweight concrete panels designed for the barrier-free fitting out of wet rooms, particularly for flooring applications.
A convenient panel size for installation; each panel weighs 16 kg.
Designed for use in damp environments and water-resistant.

FAQ
You can find clear answers to the most frequently asked questions in our FAQ section.
Yes, James Hardie offers a solution here in collaboration with PCI. We recommend using fermacell® Powerpanel TE with a tiled finish.
In consultation with PCI, we recommend the following processing steps:
A substrate with a sufficient gradient; if necessary, install a gradient wedge in conjunction with the composite system or with fermacell™ bonded loose-fill.
Installation of fermacell® Powerpanel TE boards, with the tongue-and-groove joints both glued and screwed or clipped in place.
At the floor-to-wall junction, apply the PCITM Pecitape 120* safety sealing tape using PCITM Seccoral 2K Rapid*, Also seal the area at the front with PCITM Seccoral 2K Rapid and PCITM Pecitape 120* to prevent water from seeping through.
Seal the entire surface using the flexible sealing slurry PCITM Seccoral 2K Rapid* (minimum dry film thickness: 2 mm), ensuring that PCITM Seccoral 2K Rapid* is also applied up the wall to the required height.
Lay the ceramic tiles using PCITM Nanoflott Light* or PCITM Rapidflott* flow-bed mortar.
Grouting the flooring with PCITM Nanofug Premium*.
Installation of flexible joints using PCITM Silcoferm S*.

fermacell® gypsum fibreboards and fermacell® screed elements are primarily made of gypsum. When exposed to high temperatures for prolonged periods (above 50 °C), gypsum releases its crystalline water and loses strength. For this reason, the flow temperature must be limited to a maximum of 55°C, for example in hot-water underfloor heating systems.
fermacell® Powerpanel boards and fermacell® Powerpanel TE screed elements are cement-bound and can withstand temperatures of up to 95°C on a permanent basis.
Further information on this can be found in the "Gypsum Data Book" published by the German Gypsum Association: www.gips.de
No.
The fermacell™ screed adhesive has been tested and approved exclusively for bonding the interlocking joints of the screed elements. For laying tiles, a suitable tile adhesive, such as fermacell™ Flex Adhesive, must be used.
Yes, it can be used in damp areas (up to W2-I in accordance with DIN 18534) as the top layer of macell® Therm25™ screed elements.
In damp rooms where fermacell® Therm25™ screed panels are not used, the fermacell® Powerpanel TE screed panel should be used.
